Abstract: In today’s dynamic business environment, organisations engaged in strategic and complex partnerships must adopt a mindset centred around shared goals and objectives. This foundation of transparency and trust allows them to collaboratively mitigate risks more effectively than merely transferring risk to the weaker party. Renowned author and academic, Kate Vitasek, speaks about the application of relational contracting. Based on her book, Contracting in the New Economy, this presentation explores the practical tools available to embrace the social aspects of contracting to harness the value-creating potential of formal relational contracts, especially for the construction industry.
